Rain Rain, Go Away

I can't believe the weather.  Rain, mad winds, SNOW!  What is going on with the world?!  My mum reckons it's a reaction to the earthquakes in Japan, and when you think of it in that context it's really not so bad over here, is it?

When I first moved back from Spain, I went straight out and bought myself a nice pair of shiny purple wellies.  That was a year and a half ago, and I suppose I've had good wear out of them, but even so, why-oh-why did they have to get holes in them now?   Just when I thought I'd be retiring them to the back of the wardrobe, suddenly all this rain came and I had to put them on again.  And now, they have holes, in both feet.  It's just the plastic has cracked and so the water seeps in a bit, which, frankly defeats the point, and so it's come to this:  I'm looking for a new pair of wellies to buy, in mid-March.

The only ones I've seen so far are on the Office website, and they have quite a few.  The problem is, I'm not sure if they'll have the same ones in-store or if you can only buy them online now.  I think this time I'm going to go for a more neutral colour, because, as much as I loved my purple ones, sometimes I was put off wearing them because they just didn't go with my outfit.  I guess you can't really go wrong in black, though I'm thinking that if I end up wearing them through the summer (god forbid!!), then maybe I'd actually rather have a nice bright pair.

On the other hand, if I'm still wearing wellies in June-July-August, I don't think I'll care what bloody colour they are!!

So, here are the contenders for my new pair:

These ones are shiny black, with a fuzzy bit round the top, which would be nice, I guess.  These ones come in at £30.

And these ones are also shiny black, but in fake crocodile print, which I'm not sure I'll like when I see them properly.  These are £30, too.

Hmm, I guess I'll go in and see what they have in store.  I'm pretty reluctant to even spend money on new wellies at this time of year, but I get the feeling that if I don't buy them then I'll regret it, cause this crappy weather might just keep getting worse! Argh!
